I’m honored to present a playlist in honor of Black History Month 2021. I’ve chosen some of my favorite traditional spirituals, arias and baroque pieces that I love and are dear to my heart. The artists you’ll hear are some of the most extraordinary performers that have graced the operatic stage. Having made significant strides not only as pioneers of opera, helping to shape the genre into what it is today, but have also made incredible contributions in solidifying equal rights for people of color.
