HOT’s Opera Residency comes into focus at Niu Valley Middle School this Summer!

HOT’s Opera Residency has returned to Niu Valley Middle School this Summer!

The Residency involves HOT’s Education team going out to a school and working with students in the program to stage a production.  The Residency concept turns the school into an opera production company where the kids involved with the program (31 total from multiple schools) develop an opera from the ground up, creating the set, rehearsing, and starring in the show. 

The Education team guides the process and directs the production from start to finish, culminating in a live performance with family members, the school, and community members in attendance. This time they are taking The Magic Flute to Space (with a performance on July 6).  

We can’t wait to see we’ll see where they’ll end up!
