Stage Director Brian Deedrick was featured on Hawaiʻi Public Radio‘s The Conversation to talk about HOT’s production of Donizetti’s The Daughter of the Regiment, opening tonight.

Hawaii Opera Theatre is delighted to welcome back international stage director BRIAN DEEDRICK following his successful Honolulu productions of Donizetti’s Don Pasquale in 2012 and Lehár’s The Merry Widow in 2004. His work regularly takes him all over Canada and the United States, with occasional forays as far afield as Germany, Italy and Israel. During his years as Artistic Director of Edmonton Opera, some of his favorite productions there included Fidelio, Otello, Falstaff and South Pacific. Selected freelance opera credits have included Turandot for Fort Worth Opera, Don Giovanni for Austin Lyric Opera, Otello for L’Opéra de Québec, Eugene Onegin for Opera Carolina, The Flying Dutchman for Baltimore Opera, and L’Elisir d’amore for Arizona Opera. Mr. Deedrick’s recent projects have included La Bohème in Tennessee, and The Cunning Little Vixen in Edmonton.
