She has loved opera since she was 7 years old, listening to it play on the radio at her childhood home in Kaimuki. As a young adult, she pursued singing, eventually studying at Italy’s renowned Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory, immersed in the culture. In1980, she returned to Hawaii to open Bel Canto School of Singing. Today, a celebrate list of professional and non-professional singers study with Rego.
