Hawaii Opera Theatre’s annual fundraising extravaganza, the Opera Ball, promises a Great Escape all its own.  Planning is in full swing and the annual affair, which has come to be known as one of the best parties in town, will launch the Grand Opera Season of Escape.  Ball chairs Linda Fulgenzi and Josette Marsh are designing many special elements for the evening around the Great Escape theme.  Highlights of the silent auction include a trip to Australia.
Another interesting auction item is a hand-painted children’s dresser.  Donated by Sunae Tom, this keepsake furniture piece is hand-painted by Robin Burton.
Ticket sales for the Great Escape Opera Ball are well underway.  Table prices range from $3,500 - $15,000.    Individual tickets are $350,” she said.
The Opera Ball is the most important annual fundraising event for the company. Monies raised through the Opera Ball significantly support HOT programs throughout the year.  For more information, email Nikki Nielsen at n_nielsen@hawaiiopera.org or call 596-7372 ext. 14
